My brother Anthony sent a You tube video tonight to my e-mail. It was from a talk from Elder F. Enzio Busche of the Quorum of the Seventy given on May 14, 1996 at a BYU devotional. It concluded with a thought that I absolutely love and that I have already done a couple posts about, one on 12-4-11 and another on 12-1-11. But I love this quote so much, and other people seem to say so much better the things that I mean to say.
“When you are compelled to give up something, or when things that are dear to you are withdrawn from you, know that this is your lesson to be learned right now. But know also that as you are learning this lesson that God wants to give you something better.”
I have already said that I know that Heavenly Father never makes us settle. When we are striving to live a righteous life and faithfully moving along, He will never make us settle for anything but the best. In my trials, it may have felt like I was losing or giving up so much, or like blessings were being withheld from my grasp, but I am amazed instead at what was assuredly gained from those trials. The Lord does indeed want to replace things in our life with those things that are better. It is trust in His infinite wisdom and love that we must live by when all is not clear to our mortal understanding.
