The day started off with our morning walk to school. We have been having beautiful weather, almost 70’s, for this whole week. It’s been glorious, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’ve had the windows open, park days, and just plenty of outside time. After we got back from our walk with the Hanseens Jaedyn arrived, and I got busy on the laundry and getting ready for the day. I had planned yesterday to take the kids to the zoo, so I was trying to get everything done before that. We invited the Hanseens and the Andersons in our ward, and Becca was going to meet us there and invite her friend Marlaina. But Sadie Face woke up with bumps all over her body that are in fact chicken pox, so they bailed out this morning. Sadie was sad she didn’t get to see Teagan – I could hear her asking for him when I was talking to Becca. Then the Andersons backed out and I was already pretty sure the Hanseens weren’t going to go either, but I decided to just go anyway. We picked Easton up from school and the 4 of us headed to Subway. My kids really like Subway, and most days I do too. Today it was good.
After Subway we headed to the zoo. Let it be said that the Las Vegas Zoo is lousy. Most of its animals are birds. The Boise Zoo was much more fun (to me) and the Phoenix zoos are awesome. At the Phoenix zoos we got to feed giraffes. I never blogged about our Phoenix zoo trip in May 7, 2010, and look how cute these pics are from 2010. I had to shoot a wedding at the Mesa Temple so we drove down to Glendale and stayed with Uncle Don’s family for a couple days. That’s when we went to the zoo with the girls, which was so much fun. There was a fun log ride that Easton rode with Erin. He thought it was so fun. These shots need to make the blog book, so here they are.
Anyway, the Las Vegas zoo is not my favorite, but the kids have fun so that’s what’s important. They really like to feed the goats.
It was a fun time for them, and that always makes me happy. Afterwards we stopped at got ice cream cones and McD’s and headed home for the kids to play outside. My new vacuum arrived while we were gone so I put that together and vacuumed, and I’m excited to use it to vacuum the stairs next week.
When Jacob got home from work we decided to go on a date, so we got a sitter and headed out around 6pm. We keep hearing so much about Five Guys Burgers and Fries, so we went there. It was good, but it doesn’t beat In N Out, so there you have it. After dinner we headed to the theater to see Sherlock Holmes 2. We liked it, and we also ran into another couple from our neighboorhood, the Gunnersons. They ended up sitting next to us in the theater. It’s always nice to get out and have a date with my hubby, and the boys love having a sitter, so it was a good night for all. I put the kiddies to bed when we got home and felt so grateful to be able to listen to their adorable prayers and sing them songs before bed. I always tell Easton at night, “I’m so happy you’re my Easton,” and then he says back, “I’m so happy you’re my momma.” I say it to Teagan too, but he just says, “K.” He has started telling me he loves me, but he can’t say, I’m glad you’re my momma, but if he could I know he totally would! They just make me smile so much. I love being their mom, and I love being Jacob’s wife.
