Jacob is out in the garage right now finishing the sanding on my bench. I have put in a good 8 hours of sanding, and that bench is still not finished. So he’s being a good husband and finishing it for me, even though I wanted to do it all myself. I understand why people skip sanding now. Maybe our sander is just not a good one, but it just takes forever. I spent a few hours sanding today, but it was raining out and since I sand in our driveway, I could do it. Easton didn’t have school today because of staff development so, even though I need to get my bench finished, I met my friend Sherrelle at McDonald’s for the boys to play with her son Colton. I didn’t mop floors like I’m supposed to on Monday, and I’ve decided that it’s a good thing that I don’t have a project to work on all the time or I might never get any cleaning done. Anyway, we stayed at McDonald’s for a couple hours and chatted while the boys played. I forget how much I need to get out of the house too. Playdates are as much for moms as they are for children, and I love hanging out with Sherrelle. After McDonald’s, the rain had let up enough for me to finish sanding so that’s what I worked on until it got dark. And Jacob didn’t make me cook dinner today. He’s a good husband.
Tomorrow I will prime and paint. I was supposed to hang out with my friend Anisha who is in town from LA for Ashley’s wedding (which was very nice, by the way, and had really good food), but I’m likely watching my friend Savannah’s son while she substitute teaches for a friend of hers. If I can get the darn bench finished I will post pics tomorrow.
