Sunday, April 1st

I was having contractions earlier for about 3 hours at about 10 minutes apart. This is the first time I’ve ever wanted my contractions to go away. But let’s be honest – I’m in no condition to go into labor. And Jacob is not 100%, and my sister is still on her death bed.  So while not being pregnant sounds terrific, going into labor today does not. Today is better than yesterday. I can feel a loosening of the congestion. I still haven’t eaten much. I had gone since Tuesday without eating anything but fruit and lemon water and juice, but I finally ate some goulash my mother sent home last night. It was nice to be able to eat food, but I haven’t had a big appetite today so I’ve just eaten fruit. We watched the second session of conference, but we missed the first one because it was just too early for sick people to be up. The boys have spent most of the day in their jammies. They are both better than yesterday, and that is good. I soaked in the bath today, and that seemed to help my sore and tired body.

Last week sometime I got most of Logan’s bedroom finished. There is still one blank wall and a small wall next to the window that I need to add something to, but that will have to wait until Logan is here. Obviously I’m not doing anything now.

Above his crib, I just strung his name up with jute string and baby clothespins. I made the elephant print in Photoshop and then just framed it with a frame I painted orange that I wasn’t using anywhere else in the house.

I love his dresser and how well it goes into the room. It adds so much cuteness.

This picture above the dresser I made out of scrapbook paper and cardboard. The elephant prints were done in Photoshop and I backed them on two pieces of scalloped felt. I stamped the alphabet on the orange cardstock. It turned out cute. And free since I just had the stuff in my craft closet. The basket was sitting in the garage, and I spray painted it orange to go with the room.  image 004

My friend Andrea made this darling darling blanket for Logan, and she had no idea what colors we were even doing his room. I love it so much, and I love how well it goes with his room. image 007

This is the bedding that I got on clearance at Target that inspired the whole room. I am so glad I found it. image 008

And this is the new crib that my parents got us. I love it! I was debating between two and I’m so glad that I ended up picking this one.

The brown console was sitting in the cutout in the stairway because I had no place for it but didn’t want to get rid of it. I think I will paint it, but not yet. The baskets are just from the dollar store. I also am going to add some cute fabric to the white curtains to make them longer and make them stand out.

This is the blank wall that I have ideas for, but nothing is set in stone. The cradle is from my friend Karol who threw my baby shower with Amanda, but we are just borrowing it for a while and then giving it back to them.  It’s going next to our bed for the first month, and then he’ll start sleeping in the crib.

I made this chipboard book for Easton a long time ago, but it matched Logan’s room, so eventually I’ll put pictures in it since I never have.
