Well we made some progress today with Mr. Logan. He made up for the sleep he missed yesterday, and I went in and woke him up for the day at 9:45. I was glad he slept so long because I was tired too. I got him in with Dr. Baker this morning, so we had an appointment at 10:30 but didn’t end up getting seen until 11:50. They did squeeze me in, though, so it’s okay. But it was pretty horrible being in that 10x10 exam room with three little boys for an hour waiting for Dr. Baker to get in there. Bless their hearts, they tried to be good, but they are just children. I even did the whole If-you-aren’t-good-you-won’t-get-a-sucker threat, but they both got suckers anyway. I was asking too much of them to sit still for an hour.
Anyway, Dr. Baker came in and muscle tested Logan’s formulas. The old one tested bad for him and the new one tested really well. So hopefully a change in formula will help to get his bowels regulated. Dr. Baker also did a rectal exam, and he was a bit worried about the fact that the build-up was sitting high up in Logon’s colon and not in the area where it should have been. He said that it could be Hirschspring’s disease, so he referred me to a gastroenterologist. Hopefully we will be able to get in quickly and rule that out because it’s only correctable by removing the dysfunctional portion of the colon, and I would really prefer that Logan would not have to have any sort of surgery of that nature. I’m sure it will all be fine, but I would just be happy to fix this constipation problem all together. It’s so frustrating to not be able to fix my child’s problems. I’m his mother, I should be able to fix him.
We spent several hours at Mom Edgel’s today letting the boys play and hanging out. I had to run to her side of town to do some errands, so we ended up staying until 8 pm. Logan was still a bit fussy today and wanted to be held for the majority of the time, but that’s understandable. How would you feel if you consistently went 7 days without pooping? I’d want someone to hold me too.

Soak a couple of tablespoons of flax seed in enough water to make about 4 bottles overnight. Use the water (not the flax seeds) to make his bottles. It works like a charm! Remember Maile's poop problems? I hope there are new GI Dr's there. The only two that were there when we were there were horrible!
