Thursday, March 22nd

Goodness. We have been busy around here trying to get stuff done for Logan’s room. His room is what is now the toy room, so the toys are going into the boys’ room which means the boys’ room needed some organization.  But let me  back up.

I mentioned that we bought a car on Friday. We bought a car on Thursday too, and I loved it. It was fancier and had more features, like rear AC and captains chairs and a huge trunk. It was a 2005 Nissan Quest, and it had low miles. But On Friday, I talked to Mike from Mike’s Auto Shack to see if we could get a better deal. So he bid on a 2007 Dodge Caravan with less miles than the 2005 we bought the night before. And he got it for $4000 cheaper than the other car we bought the night before. But the thing about the auction is that when he goes, he calls you as he looks at the vehicle, describes it on the phone, and asks if you want him to bid on it. So if he bids on it and gets it, it is your car. No turning back. I was trying to be smart and go into less debt, so I told him to go for it, and he did and we got it. When we picked it up I was disappointed. I don’t think I would have been disappointed had I not had the other van first. But it didn’t have rear AC, and I figured that was standard in all minivans. We took the other van back to Car Max, and I loved it. I can do without the fancy stuff it had, but I REALLY liked the rear AC, and I feel like that is a must when you are living in Vegas. And the captains chairs and big trunk were super nice. Anyway, the Dodge is really nice and drives well, but I miss the other van. We are trying to sell the Dodge and get a Nissan Quest, specifically so that I can have rear AC, but if we have to keep this car, I’m okay with that too. We really were trying to make the right choice and get into less debt.  Here is our Dodge Caravan.  It is nice, just not AS nice.

So that’s the story with the car.

On Tuesday I spent 6 hours painting Logan’s room. I taped it off, did 2 coats and all the cutting in before Jacob was home from work. I was tired that day. That’s a lot of work for a 9 month pregnant lady. But I wanted the entire room done that day, and I wanted to do it myself. Wednesday (yesterday) I spent several hours refinishing a dresser that I’ve had for a while. Amanda’s brother was using it and then didn’t want it anymore, so she gave it to us. I had it in our bathroom for a while, but I decided to give it to Logan instead. I’m really happy with how it turned out. I lightly sanded it, then did 3 coats of the same paint we used when we painted E’s and T’s room, and then I distressed it. I have to wait a couple days to do the poly coat over it. I added the handles today which I found on clearance at Target. I love it!

And these are the after shots. You can also see the lovely blue that I painted Logan’s room.  The dresser is more green in person.

Today I spent some time cleaning and doing laundry and cooking dinner.  Staci also came by to drop off a gift for the baby since she wasn’t able to make it to the baby shower last Saturday. When Jacob got home from work he got ready and took the boys with him to his parents to cut the material for the book shelves for the boys room. I had to go to mutual, so I didn’t go with them. After mutual was over, Jacob got home with the boys, and I helped him hang the shelves. We used rain gutters that we keep seeing on Pinterest.  I love how they look and how much space they have cleared up in E’s and T’s room. The boys love them as well.

After putting those up, I got the boys in bed and Jacob and I finished putting together Logan’s crib. We finished that about 11pm. We’ve been doing a lot, and there is still more to do. But I’ve really enjoyed our projects.  The dresser was a lot of fun since I didn’t sand it like I did the bench. It won’t get as much of a beating as the bench does.

Tomorrow Sadie Face is coming over for a sleep over with the boys. We might be crazy, but Jacob thought it would be fun to have her over for the night, and the boys and Sadie are SO excited. I need to get Logan’s stuff washed tomorrow and get a hospital bag ready, just in case. I can’t remember all the things that babies need at first. I’m 2 weeks away from being due, and I hope for much sooner than that.
