Wednesday, July 25th

I’m going to give myself a pat on the back for actually blogging before midnight. It’s only 10:20pm! I have the worst bedtime habits. I always go to bed so late, but luckily my darling little boys typically don’t wake up until 9am. Logan has been sleeping from 8pm to 8 or 9am. Bless his almost-4-month-old heart!

I did a lot of cleaning today, scrubbing toilets, laundry, sweeping, etc. I managed to get half a workout in before I gave up and decided how much I hate Insanity and can’t wait until I’m done. It’s the worst workout ever. Only a person like my sister would actually enjoy doing it. But I’m trying to hang in there and not give up before the 60 days is up.

Most of our day was spent just getting things done around the house. Bec and Jud brought Sadie over around 7pm, so she played with the boys for a while and we went for a walk. I really love that my boys get to live by their cousins and that they are such good friends with them. Sadie borrowed a pair of Teagan’s shorts today (which were entirely too big) so that she wouldn’t get her white shorts dirty outside, and then the goofs came downstairs wearing beanies. In the summer. In Vegas, mind you. Children certainly make me smile.

I’ve been reading talks from the April 2012 session of general conference. I know that I heard most of them, but there were some that I missed. And even the ones that I’d heard I’d forgotten about. I love reading words of encouragement that remind me to endure through trials, study the scriptures, pray to receive personal revelation, live as an example of the gospel teachings, and refrain from judging others. As I read today, I felt grateful that revelation has not ceased in our day and that we get to hear from prophets and apostles the messages that Heavenly Father knows we need to hear. Mountains to Climb by Henry B. Eyring and Faith, Fortitude, Fulfillment: A Message to Single Parents by David S. Baxter have been 2 of my favorite reads over the past few days. If anyone needs a pick-me-up or just a reminder of how to get through trials, these are great talks.
