Saturday was an eventful day for us. Jacob picked the boys up from my parents’ around 11am, and then we headed to Amanda’s at noon. She had a party for Ryan’s birthday, so we hung out there for a few hours eating good food, swimming in her pool, and chatting with our friends. The boys love to go to Amanda’s, and we do too. Logan got in the pool for a little bit too, but since he’s been fussy he didn’t love the water. He tolerated it, but he didn’t love it. I have a cute new swimsuit that only looks cute on me from the chest up.
From Amanda’s, Jacob and I went home and quickly changed to go to the sealing of a family in our ward. We took the boys back to my parents’ while we went to the sealing. I love to go to family sealings. They had 5 children, and the youngest 3 are under 3, and they were screaming so loud in the sealing room. That’s the loudest I’ve ever heard the sealing room, and it was really quite funny. But always a sweet reminder of what I felt when I was sealed to Jacob over a year ago now.
After the Temple, we picked up the boys and headed home. I dropped the boys off and then headed to Andrea’s for a girls night with Becca, Andy, and Staci. We didn’t do much at all – we chatted, watched some TV, and then went grocery shopping because we all needed some things from the store. Not super exciting, but we didn’t expect to do much since Andy just had a baby and can’t really be gone for long.
Logan was a bit better today. He was okay to sit on the couch for about a half hour and was content when we were outside and also while he was in his swing today. He was kinda fussy during the 2nd hour of church yesterday, but otherwise I think that we are adjusting to his fussiness. Not that I’m inviting it to stay, but we’re just trying to make the best of it. I could get a lot more things done in the day before this past week, but now that he needs more attention, I’ve been looking kinda shabby. I got my workout done, but then I didn’t have time to get ready after that, so I just spent the rest of the day looking homely. There’s nothing I can do about that for now. We’ll just wait for Logan’s fussy stage to pass and for him to return to that angelic child that he was for the first 14 weeks of his life.
The boys have been spending a lot of time playing outside these days, even though it’s always 100+ degrees out there. I am completely happy with the time they spend outside because that means they aren’t inside watching television or asking me for food. Most days they are out there with their friends Taj and Leah. They are the best of friends. Earlier today we were outside watching the lightning and listening to the thunder (we were in the garage with the garage door up). Logan contentedly sat on my lap for a while and watched the storm with us. And then as quickly as the storm came and cooled it down outside, it passed right through and took it’s cool air with it. But I swear, the kids have no idea how hot it is. Hence, Teagan is wearing a polyester Spiderman costume. I’m not sure what the little boy’s name is on the far right, but Taj and Leah’s parents watch him sometimes. Anyway, these kids play for hours a day outside riding their bikes and scooters and inventing all sorts of games. Sometimes they fight, but the majority of the time they are just really good pals.
