This past weekend Jacob and I headed up to Provo for his mission reunion. Joseph rode up with us, and on the way up we stopped in Cedar City and dropped the boys off with Adam (he just moved there). We stayed at our condo in Elk Meadows Thursday night after breaking into Jacob’s grandparents’ house to find a key to the condo since Jacob left our key at home. So we got into the condo pretty late, about 3 am. But without kiddies we got to sleep in, so that was nice. The 3 of us were back on the road Friday afternoon heading to Provo. Joseph stayed with our cousin Ryan and Jacob and I stayed with Jacob’s brother Jared and his wife Jen.
Friday evening we headed to Jacob’s reunion where there was a lot of man hugging going on. He was so cute how excited he got to see all his old mission buddies and his mission pres and his wife. It was nice to be able to put a face to all these names I hear about all the time. After the reunion we headed to his mission buddy’s house with a few other couples and chatted. Well, I guess the guys chatted about old mission times and the rest of us ladies laughed at their stories.
Saturday we ended up watching the second session of General Conference (we slept right through the first one) and then headed to Chick Fil A, a scrumptious chicken sandwich place that I wish Vegas had. Or maybe I don’t wish they had it because then I would want to eat it. A lot. After that we headed back to Jared’s so Jacob could go with his brother to the Priesthood session of conference, and I stayed there and worked on my history test and a research paper that was due the next day. I managed to spend 4 hours that evening doing homework, which is not ideal when you’re on a weekend getaway ( I did get that paper back today, and I got a 98 :)). After Priesthood session we met up with Joseph and Ryan for some always delicious Cafe Rio where Joe and Ryan shared their sorrows about being lady-less. I remember those dating woes. I had to go through them twice, so I don’t really feel that sorry for them. Try being married for 5 years and then having to date again. I don’t recommend trying it at all, actually.
Anyway, we had such beautiful warm weather Friday and Saturday and woke up to a snow-covered Provo on Sunday. Kind of random, if you ask me. We slept through the first session again :(, and headed out to pick Joe up at my cousin David’s and his wife Katie’s apt (David is Ryan’s brother). So we visited with them and Ryan for a bit before heading back to Vegas. We were able to listen to all of the second session in our car, and it was quite the session.
After we picked the boys up in Cedar, the rest of the car ride was pretty miserable because Teags was really fussy. Sometimes he gets like that when he’s gone from me for more than a day. I don’t blame him, I’m sure going back and forth between sets of parents can be hard on a little guy. He has no idea what’s going on. But he’ll be okay – Jacob always reminds me when I start to feel sorry for the boys for being in a divorced family that Heavenly Father knew what they were capable of bearing, and that they’ll both be stronger for it. I agree with him on that, but it’s just hard to always remember.
I was really lame and didn’t take many pics of our weekend, but here are a few.

Yep, totally agree with you about dating woes, and going through them TWICE! I'm going through it for the second time right now and I can't wait until it ends...I'm ready!
