School is kicking my butt. My two classes that I had at first were great, I could manage no problem. But then my other 2 eight-week courses started, and in those eight-week courses cram an entire semester into 8 miserable weeks, making for a LOT of work. Every time I think I’m done, I’ve got another research paper or group project due.
I’ve also discovered that I’m a professional procrastinator. I’m very good – expert, in fact – at waiting until the very last minute to get everything done. I’m not very good at managing my time efficiently, I’ll tell you that. I can’t focus on any one task for too long, and that goes for house work as well as school work. So I feel like there are a million things to do, but I’ll of course be scrambling the day they’re due wondering why I can’t be more efficient with my time. Not sure how to fix it. It’s very unproductive and the quality I least like about myself. At least I’m aware of it, right?
The boys went to Adam’s yesterday. I met him in Mesquite before I had to take Jacob to work. They’ll be back on Saturday sometime, so I’ve got all these plans of things that I’m going to get done while they are gone, but I’d rather just be lazy and unproductive. Like today I was supposed to do school work but I’ve wasted hours doing absolutely nothing. Getting on Facebook. I wish I weren’t so distracted.
On Tuesday I ran 3.18 miles. That’s the farthest I’ve ran yet. I was extremely proud, since I believed that I couldn’t run more than 2 miles. Tomorrow I have a goal to run 5 miles. I hope I can do it. I have to.
Last night a few of my cute Young Women came over for a movie night. We got frozen yogurt and watched Country Strong, which was lousy. But I sure love my YW!
Tonight Jacob and I were able to go to the Temple. Have I mentioned that I love my sweet husband and can’t wait to be sealed to him? We should hopefully be getting our clearance letter next month. Fingers are crossed. It’s nice to be able to get some time together. On Monday, he got of work early and I called a sitter so that he and I could go to dinner and to see a movie. We still managed to get FHE in too.
Life is good, but school is not fun, and that’s the moral of today’s post.
