5-23-10 Church and family dinner
I love Sundays – Jacob gets up with the boys so that I can sleep in, and after church we always go to my family’s house for dinner. Tonight my dad made sopapillas and macaronis (kinda like fidello) and papas con caldo. Oh, and of course, red chile. So yummy! I love my siblings and parents, and it’s always great to get the whole family together for dinner. The kids love playing with each other. So it was a wonderful Sunday, and now I’m off to read and go to bed. Tomorrow will be a busy day of editing!
5-22-10 Red Rock Canyon
Today was such a beautiful day! Boys were up at 7am (that’s not so beautiful) and the temperature was perfect, probably in the 70’s. I took Easton and his friend Lola to the park while Teagan napped, and then when we got back from the park Jacob and I decided to take a drive up to Red Rock Canyon. We had a great time walking around and taking some pictures and spending a beautiful afternoon outside with each other. We need to get a baby backpack carrier, though, for our next outdoor excursion because carrying Teagan is not all that fun when he decides he’s done walking. Here’s some pictures from our wonderful day.
We had such a great time! I was thinking - I really love my boys. I love being a mother, and I was thinking about that today while we were on our family outing. At times, I don’t know what to do with all the love I have for my little sweethearts. Sometimes when I’m putting them to bed and Easton says to me, “I’m so glad you’re my momma”, my heart just melts and everything is just right. And all the extra pounds and post-partum depression are such trivial things when I look at my babies and see that they are mine and that we love each other to the point that we are almost consumed by that love. When I see them laughing and growing and loving each other I can’t help but feel an immense joy that just spills over. Easton and all the innocently profound words that come from his mouth and Teagan’s adorable smile ( I could EAT that face!!!) – I just can’t believe that these two children are forever mine to enjoy. I love them. So much.
