Today is Mother’s Day, and I am grateful for a day that celebrates my favorite job. These sweet boys of mine are just too precious for words. Too adorable to handle. I love every minute with them, even the frustrating ones where they won’t stop fighting and making me want to pull my hair out or poke my eyes out or both.
Easton excitedly ran up to me today and said, “Happy Valentine’s Mom!” I loved that. They gave me pictures and Jacob gave me a card he made on the computer that somehow printed Love Dave on it which he then scribbled out and signed Jake. I think it’s cute that instead of fixing it and printing me a new one, he crossed it out. It’s just fitting, and it made me smile :). They then sang and danced for me to Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are”. Then Easton and Teagan serendaded me with their own made-up songs. Easton woke up with croup this morning, so Jacob went to sacrament and then came home and I went to Relief Society. After church is when they did all the stuff I just mentioned. We have church WAY too early to do this stuff before, although Jacob did make breakfast for me and the boys. After giving me my gifts, we all ended up cuddling in our bed, and I thought about how much fun it is to be where I am in my life right now – married to my sweet Jacob and mother to those two sweethearts of mine.
We then went to Jacob’s parents house to celebrate mother’s day with Mom Edgel and Jayden’s birthday. We got to talk to Jacob’s brother Jordan who’s on his mission in Texas, ate some pizza, and had a fun time just hanging out. Then we headed to my parents we we celebrated with Grandma Romero and ate fajitas and played some more. Cute little Sadie loves Jacob and always gives him big hugs and snuggles, which she apparently NEVER does for anyone else (according to Becca) so we always laugh at how excitely she runs up to Jacob. It’s kind of sweet, to be honest, and makes me want a little girl for him :).
Yesterday I took the boys to this darling little park that’s butterfly themed and has a water spout area. They had SO much fun, and I acutally took my nice camera out to take pics of them. So we got a few good ones since they are hard to actually get a good shot of when they’re having too much fun.
