A lady at church told me that she had all four of her children 10 days late. With Easton I went 12 days late, and by the last 12 days I hated all people that said, "You still haven't had your baby?" I, being raunchy and fat and swollen, would always want to say, "Obviously not, you genius." I think I stopped going to church and avoided phone calls until Easton finally came out and I could be nice again. I was so cranky, and I don't think that I'm any happier about not having had this kid yet either. I know, I'm not due until Wednesday, but I feel like it's not looking good. I've got an appointment with my midwife tomorrow, and hopefully she'll have good news, and if not, hopefully she can work some magic or vu-du (voo-doo?) or something. My cousin works in the ER as a nurse and told me that some women have tried to break their water with a metal coat hanger and end up injuring the baby. Wackos. At least I'm not that bad. Not yet anyway, but give it time.
But for a bonus, Easton is potty trained! Diapers only at bedtime. Easton out of diapers just in time to get Tegan into them.
Now, does anyone have any tricks that got them into labor? And don't say sex. Or exercise. Or spicy food. I've heard those ones.

Castor oil. Yep...thats how I got Elsie here. My membranes were stripped the day before, so that could have helped. But I was on the toilet all night until I realized I was also in labor...(that is how it works...it stimulates your bowells which in turn stimulates your uterus)
Good luck...I am sorry he's not here yet. I wish I could help ya beat those people up who keep asking when he will be here!!!
Ha ha I threw the castor oil up! I would say walking, I know it sounds like exercise but that's what I have been doing about everyother day I go 2 miles and it really just feels good to get out and about. I was starting to progress with this baby at 36weeks and with Liza I was nothing at 36 weeks and I didnt' walk with her. It may help. I'm about to the point of not going to church either. People look at you like you are a freak of nature, gotta love it!
I am so sorry. Justin's sister went a full 14 days late with her baby and ended up having to have a c-section because she wasn't dialated or anything! I remember thinking that going that late would be the WORST! I don't know any tricks - personally I think they are all crap. Justin has learned how to break water with the crochet hook thing (the joy of a med student) so I told him that that was going to be our special way of inducing labor!
Yay for Easton though! That's great!
I was 5 days overdue with Tyrone and did the Castor oil thing. I did go into labor that night, and then stopped. I got induced the next morning and he was born in 5 hours. Castor Oil is nasty stuff, but if you're desperate..... It works for some people and not for others. Good Luck. I know you are miserable, but your little guy will be here before you know it. Can't wait for the pics.

So Cherise insists on raspberry herb tea. I took it with Cole and ended up having him a couple days later. I don't think because of the tea, it was cause my blood pressure was too high. It's worth a try and the taste isn't too bad.
Yes, I swear it put me in labor. I did the fountain Raseberry Ice tea, and the hot herbal Ice tea... as much and as often as I could. It took 2 days and bam out he flew! Good luck!
