Monday, May28th

We just got home from Colleen’s house after a fun afternoon of BBQing and swimming. Lots of eating. I’ll start my diet tomorrow, I promise. We had a really good time except that Sadie was sick so she spent the whole time asleep on Becca’s bed. Becca’s nieces and nephews were there, so the boys still had kids to play with. I didn’t really go out to the pool at all. I was taking care of Logan, and the boys would much rather have Jacob in the pool with them than me. He’s just more fun. He doesn’t care if his hair gets wet. Easton always says, “Moms don’t get their hair wet when they swim.” I guess he thinks that all moms are that way, even though it might just  be me. And my sister. We’re not very fun. Heather and Bryan (Juddy’s sister and her hubs) were there with their kiddos, and they had a couple friends with them, and then it was just us and Joe. Becca and Juddy moved back in with Colleen and Darrell for a few months, so we’ll be going over there a bit more this summer. Anyway, we headed over there around 2pm, and we got home a half hour ago. The boys are in the garage building things. They went to Lowe’s this morning before heading to Coleen’s to get stuff for their man projects. Jacob is cute to do stuff like that with them. A few weeks ago they built a little treasure box, and today they are working on a catapult.

On Friday, the 25th, it was my and Jacob’s 1-year anniversary for our sealing. We didn’t do anything to celebrate because we’re going to celebrate our wedding day each year, but it was nice to remember that we were sealed a year ago. We went to dinner that evening with Bec and Jud, Joe and Laura, Laura’s sister Jeanna and her husband Jerry, and Laura’s sis-in-law Pansy. We already all know Pansy and her husband Jared (he was working), and I know Jeanna because she is a photographer here in Vegas, but it was nice to go out to dinner with all of them. That was the first time I saw Laura with Joe. I set them up a while ago, and they’ve really hit it off. My mom took Easton and Teagan for the night, so we took Logan with us to dinner. We went to Bucca di Beppo, a really good Italian restaurant. After Bucca, Jacob and I came back home and changed the baby since he puked all over himself and me in the restaurant, and then we headed to Laura’s parents’ house for homemade pazookies. Pansy was there with her son Nixon and Jud and Becca ended up going over too. We chatted with Laura’s parents for a bit, and after they went to bed and Pansy went home, Jacob and I stayed until 12:30 am with Bec, Jud, Joe and Laura. Logan just slept the whole time which is the nice thing about having a baby. It was fun to stay late chatting and meeting Laura’s parents. I really like her and her family, and I hope that these two get married. I know Joe loves her family too.

On Saturday after sleeping in for a bit, I went for a run outside. It was such a beautiful day, and I definitely prefer to run outside than on the treadmill. After 3.5 miles, I was spent. Once I got home, I hopped in the shower and Jacob went to get the boys from my mom. I washed my hair and tried to get things done while Logan pretend napped. He’s not my best napper. He’s hard to get to sleep and he wakes up a lot. Today he took a good two hour nap, but I don’t feel like that’s typical. When Jacob got home I left to do pictures for my cousin Brad and his wife Trish. I wanted to practice some film, so that’s what we did. After pictures we went to Colleen’s house to watch a UFC fight. Joe and Laura were also there, so the boys got to meet her for the first time. We had another late night, not getting home until 11pm. It’s hard to have late nights with children. I feel like everyone is so cranky when our routine gets thrown off.

Yesterday we went to church, and then our home teachers dropped by afterwards. Once they left we ate lunch and headed to my parents. Laura came over to my parents as well, and we stayed until 10:30 letting the kids play. My mom was sick with a stomach bug the night before, so she was up in her room most of the time. The kids kept going up to check on her and touch her forehead and ask her how she was feeling. They are so cute – they love their grandparents. That’s probably where Sadie got sick from, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the boys get it too. They were all together the whole night, and sickness tends to pass from one child to the next in our family.

It was nice to have Jacob home from work today and Easton home from school. Three-day weekends really are the best, and I can’t wait until the school is out for the summer. Logan has been like clockwork, waking up at 5:30 every morning to eat. He doesn’t get up in the night anymore, so I’m grateful for that, but I can’t wait until he stretches it two more hours until 7:30. Then he’ll be getting 8-9 hours straight instead of 6. As soon as he’s sleeping until 7 or 7:30, I can go to the gym at 6am. That’s my goal so that I won’t have to take time out of my day to workout. I’m sure he’ll be a good little boy and start sleeping straight through soon.
