I am so happy that it is November. Oh, I just LOVE everything about this time of year. I may actually decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving this year, just to make it last a little bit longer. It has been nice and chilly here in Vegas for the past several days. And I love that! I think I love the cold until the holidays are over, and then I’m just done with it. Too bad that it lasted until April when I lived in Meridian. It doesn’t last as long here in Vegas, and of course it’s never quite as cold, but I’m always ready for spring once Christmas is over.
Last night Jacob and I went to Ward Temple Night with our ward, so the boys ended up going to my parents to spend the night. That wasn’t the original plan but my dad called and said he wanted them to spend the night. He’s such a cute grandpa. My boys have some of the best grandparents in the world. My parents love to have them over, and Jacob’s parents are equally as thrilled when they get to hang out with them. I love to see how much the boys love their grandparents. They love to go hang out with them whenever they get the chance. And I just think that it’s the best because my parents and Jacob’s parents are the very definition of grandparents. I always say that my dad only had children so that they would give him grandchildren.
Early this morning, about 4:30, Jacob headed out to go hunting with his dad. I think they were mostly just going to scout the area, but they got to their spot by 6:30 am, and Jacob got his deer by 8 am. This is good news because if he didn’t get anything today, he had a hunt planned for the day after Thanksgiving from Friday to Sunday, so I’d have to sleep without him for those nights, and I don’t like doing that. It’s also good news because he was really excited to get his deer so quickly. I’m glad that in his family they end up using all the meat from any animals they hunt. So they’re not just hunting all in the name of killing an animal. They eat that meat up for the next months it takes them to eat it. Every time I go to Jacob’s parents’ they are eating deer or elk, but I won’t go near that stuff unless it’s deer salami. That stuff I do like. Anyway, here’s a pic of my cute little hubby with his buck. Nice and bundled up in 18 degree weather in Cold Creek, about an hour outside of Vegas.
