Oh goodness. I know it’s been a month, but it was crazy the week before girls camp. I had not even a minute to spare. And then I was gone for a week at girls camp.
I realized that I never mentioned my one of my best friends’ wedding. Staci and Clayton got married on June 11th. She started dating Clayton like 4 months before I started dating Jacob, and Jacob and I were married 17 months before her. We weren’t fast, they were just slow.
Here’s a pic of our little foursome. I LOVE these girls!
I hate when I miss a month. I feel like it’s been very busy so I have so much to catch up on.
Like I said, the week before girls camp was crazy. I got about 3-4 hours of sleep every night before camp set-up on July 2. after setting up camp, we headed up to the condo in Beaver with Jacob’s family. It was a wonderful weekend. We got to go quadding and paddle boating, and I got to just sit and do nothing and take naps. We spent the 4th up there as well, but the boys went with Adam since he hasn’t had them on the 4th yet. Plus he had to take the boys the week that I was at camp. It was so nice to get away with my little family after neglecting them for a week doing girls camp stuff and since I wouldn’t see them for a week while I was at camp.
Jacob and I came home late Monday night since I had to be up for camp the next morning at 5am. I had to get a shower in, of course, since I wouldn’t be able to shower for 5 days. Girls camp was good. I don’t like camping, and I missed my family terribly, but I love and ADORE my young women and the other leaders. We got a lot of rain. It was wet and muddy, and we were so sick of it. But to hear the testimonies of all my young women on Friday evening made it all worth it, including the work that went into it and the time away from my family to be a part of it. My 27th birthday was the first day of camp, and my cute girls surprised me with heart attacking my tent and gifts on my cot. I seriously love all their cute faces and got to know all of them so much better. We had a friend of one of our girls whose not a member bear her testimony and say that she’s suffered from depression since she was 7, and that this was the first time in a long time she’d felt any joy. Just really makes your heart feel good.
So that brings us to today. And now that camp is over, I guess I don’t have a lot to do. School doesn’t start until the end of next month. We’re heading to the condo this coming weekend for Pioneer Days with my family, and I’m so stoked for that! I’ve just been uploading for APP, catching up on editing, and working out while not taking care of the boys and being a wife.
