Sunday, October 27th

October has been a beautiful month. We have had fall weather in Vegas, and it has been oh so lovely. It’s typically pretty warm up until Halloween, but we’ve had some chilly days and really nice days as well. Good weather makes me very happy. It is magical almost. Magical enough to write about on the blog. I love the feeling in the air when the season changes from summer to fall.

Just this past week we were able to go up to St. George and stay at Amanda’s house (Amanda’s the best) with Bec and Jud and our kiddos. We spent a day up at Zion National Park, and all I want to do is go back there. It was a perfect fall day, and it was wonderfully enjoyable to be out in God’s green earth. The colors of the leaves were changing. We saw deer grazing in fields, and the children got to feed squirrels. It was such a nice time and a much needed short vacation from our daily routine. Our second night’s stay was an eventful one, with Teagan throwing up in his sleep all over himself and Sadie, and Logan waking up at 12:30 am and staying awake until 7 am. I nearly lost my mind that night until he finally plopped on the floor in the living room after running around like a wild man all night. He’s lucky, super lucky, that I really love him. We still had a great time despite our lack of sleep the second night. (Photos courtesy of my new iPhone 5c)

We went to our ward trunk-or-treat on Friday night after getting back from St. George. The boys’ best buds, Tahj and Leyah, and G-Ma and G-Pa Edgel came with us for the night. Logan was Chewbacca, Easton was Harry Potter, and Teagan was a knight. If you ask Teagan, he’ll tell you that he was “the dark” for Halloween. He apparently forgot the word “knight” today, and I’m assuming he thought he was a “night”, so he said he was “the dark.” Kids are too cute. I should work more often with him on saying his R’s, but I just can’t let that little part of his baby-ness go.

The Children had so much fun at the pumpkin patch a week ago with Sadie and Jayden. We went with Bec and Jud and my parents last Friday, and the children spent the evening riding on all the janky carnival rides and playing in the bouncy things. We actually went to one that was a bit more affordable than the one we went to last year. We got the boys wrist bands that allowed them to ride everything as many times as they wanted. The one we went to last year didn’t have that option. Logan got to ride everything with Jacob, and he had WAY too much fun. I love to see him do all these things like his big brothers for the first time. Having children makes life so much more fun!! I tried to get pics, but there was too much going on and the children were running around 100 miles per hour.

We carved pumpkins and ate yummy roasted pumpkin seeds for FHE last Monday at G-Ma and G-Pa Edgel’s. As I said, October has been great. We’ve had a couple fires at the Edgels, one of which was tonight after dinner at my parents’ since Jen and Jared are in town with Gavin. I don’t know if my children love anything more than being with cousins. I love that they love it. Teagan and Sadie are inseparable, and even though Easton is older than everyone, he seems to be equally enthused to have cousin hangouts. It is so important to me for my children to be close to their cousins, and I love to see them being buds.

October has also been great because I’ve made about 4 too many trips to Target. Shhh. A few last pics of my boys.
